Summer in the States!

At the end of June, we arrived back in the states in two very different places emotionally. Tatum was thrilled to be back while Corbin was disappointed with having left Asia early. But, as time went by the countless fishing trips, mountain bike rides, and fun with family made him come around.

We thought being home meant less moving around... NOPE! We were all over MT, WY, and ID. High’s included a 4th of July float trip, Colorado road trip, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and multiple wedding receptions. Corbin was even able to take a trip to Denver to see The Rolling Stones with a buddy. Although we did a ton of fun things... seeing our family and friends was by far our favorite part. Did we mention we surprised most of Tatum’s family? Their faces were priceless.
As we played, we also worked. We put in a lot of time and were finally able to make teaching profitable. Happy that things were turning around, our stress dwindled as we prepared for our return to Asia.
As the summer unfolded, our feelings about ‘hitting the road again’ varied. Around the time Tatum started to re-gain her wanderlust, Corbin was getting comfortable with the idea of staying stateside. But, come September, we both felt refreshed and ready to hit the road for round 2.
Looking back, we feel that our 3 month summer at home was 100% the right decision. We were Bali bound with memories of a great summer, good teaching jobs, and our adventure meters re-filled!
With Love,
